Why Try MDPen Skin Needling?
Innovative and effective, MDPen activates your body’s natural cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift skin, while minimizing many common skin problems. MDPen MicroNeedling is used for skin revitalization and can be used in conjunction with other treatments.
Many skin concerns, including those listed below, can be addressed with micro needling treatments. Your MDPen practitioner will help you decide how to use micro needling in your skin care plan.
MDPen MicroNeedling Is Safe & Effective
Many skin imperfections, that might have otherwise been treated with lasers or IPL, can be addressed with a series of MDPen skin needling treatments. MDPen treatments are non-ablative, do not cause trauma to the skin, and are a safe, effective tool in an anti-aging skin care regimen. Sun avoidance is not required after treatment, however sun protection is always recommended.
How Does MDPen Improve The Skin’s Appearance?
MDPen rapidly creates a pattern of micro channels in the treatment area. These micro channels significantly increase the production of collagen and elastin to leave the skin smoother, fresher, and more uniform. Micro channels also create micro injuries which causes the body to send blood and growth factors to the area resulting in glowing, healthy skin.
Restylane® Lift, Restylane® Silk, Juvederm™, Juvederm™ & Voluma.
Restylane® and Perlane® are cosmetic fillers that are injected into areas of decreased volume that show up in your face over time due to aging, smoking and the effects of gravity and sun. These fillers are hydrophilic and the purpose is to add volume, thus diminishing or almost completely eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. These techniques are also used in conjunction with plastic facial surgery. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and provides volume and fullness in the skin. Over time, women lose this substance 33% faster than men. Restylane® and Perlane® are modified to provide a volume-enhancing effect that will last longer than what would be expected from “naturally” occurring hyaluronic acid found in the body.
The Restylane® brand is the top selling dermal filler in the world. To date, over 1.4 million treatments of Restylane® have been done in more than 70 countries. The results of Restylane® last about 6 months, although studies show that with one repeat injection, results can last up to 18 months. The FDA has given Restylane® an 18-month duration approval time frame, provided a specific application pattern is provided. This can provide on-going “full correction” for up to the specified time frame, thus keeping you satisfied longer, cutting down on re-treatments and costing you less in the long run.
Perlane is specifically designed for deeper lines and wrinkles. Many times both fillers are used at one session depending on the correction required. Your provider will recommend what is best for your concerns. The goal is to get you the longest duration possible. Your provider will also prepare you for the injection with an anesthetic block, numbing cream, or ice. There are numerous areas that are possible for treatment, including lips, nasal folds, and marionette lines around the mouth and under the eyes. Cheeks and other areas can also be enhanced with Perlane®.

Juvederm™ and Juvederm™ Voluma
Juvéderm® is the first smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Your healthcare professional eases Juvéderm® injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds, the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Hylacross technology gives Juvéderm® its unique smooth-gel properties as well as an optimal gel structure that holds up over time.
Juvéderm® injectable filler is the only hyaluronic acid filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year with initial treatment.
Juvéderm® provides a smooth, natural look and feel-so everyone will notice (but no one will know). In fact, studies show superior results of Juvederm compared to a collagen-based dermal filler. Juvéderm® has been used to treat numerous areas, including lips, nasal folds, cheek enhancement, and marionette lines around the mouth and under the eyes.

BOTOX® Dyport™, Xeomin, Artefill® and Belotero
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age.
One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within days there is a noticeable improvement in moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows. The benefits can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein, produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause frown lines that form over time.
In 2006, almost 3.2 million procedures were performed with FDA-approved BOTOX®. No anesthesia is required, although you may choose to have the area numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to the injections. The most common side effects following injections include redness and nausea.
BOTOX® is also FDA approved for excessive underarm sweating (primary axillary hyperhidrosis) that is not adequately managed with topical agents. BOTOX® neurotoxin treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands do not receive chemical signals, the excessive sweating stops.

Dysport is a simple, effective, non-surgical treatment that works by relaxing facial muscles on the forehead, thereby reducing and smoothing away frown-lines and wrinkles.
What can Dysport do for you?
Whenever you laugh, frown, concentrate or squint into the sun, your facial muscles contract and your skin creases. As you get older your skin loses its elasticity and those creases deepen into lines that become permanently etched on your face. Frown lines between your eyes can become particularly noticeable at a relatively young age, making you look angry or worried even when you’re not.
By temporarily immobilising the muscles you use to frown, Dysport can smooth out those lines, restoring a more youthful, less stressed expression to your face. Because you will be physically unable to frown after treatment, you may even lose the urge to frown. The lasting effect of treatment with Dysport can differ between individuals after which further courses of treatment may be necessary. Speak with your specialist about the results you can expect with Dysport.
Many people find after several treatments that they don’t need another one for longer, because they have “unlearned” the habit of frowning or squinting that originally led to the development of these lines.
What exactly is Dysport?
Dysport is a protein extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The protein was initially used for the treatment of motor disorders and various kinds of involuntary muscular spasms, including cerebral palsy. It was further developed to treat a wide variety of neuromuscular disorders, for which it is licensed in over 60 countries.
In New Zealand, Dysport now has registration approval under the Medicines Act for the treatment of frown lines and for excessive sweating under the armpits.
How is Dysport used?
Tiny amounts of Dysport are injected directly into the facial muscles underlying the frown lines. It usually takes three to five small, almost painless injections between the eyebrows for an effective treatment. No local anesthetic is usually required but if you are concerned your doctor can numb the skin over the area before injecting. You can expect treatment to take around 10-20 minutes.
Over the next few days, the muscles gradually relax. You probably won’t notice it happening – you’ll just become aware that you can’t contract your frown muscles. But because you can still blink normally and raise your eyebrows, you will not look unnatural. Rather, you can enjoy a more youthful appearance while maintaining a natural expression.
Who can benefit from Dysport?
Deeply etched frown lines affect not just your appearance, but also your self-esteem and even your choice of career. Dysport can help you look younger, more relaxed and in control – for around the same price per month as a cut and colour by your hairdresser.
Many people with frown lines can benefit from Dysport– and it can work as well for men as it does for women. In fact many men are already experiencing the benefits of a younger, more relaxed looking appearance that Dysport can provide. Discuss with your specialist about the benefits of Dysport for you.
